Leo and I decided to start this podcast because we love to talk to each other about science, technology, engineering and math. We each have our own interests and expertise. (He knows a lot more about airplanes and robots than me.) We also like discovering new things and sharing in the joy of learning.

We both feel that it is important that everyone feel welcome to the table when it comes to learning about STEM. There is something in it for everyone regardless of age, ability or gender. We named our podcast Not Just For Girls for a couple of reasons. First, since I have spent most of my adult life as a science educator with Leo being a willing pupil I wanted the name to demonstrate how women and girls can be the experts in STEM topics. But we also didn’t want this to be a podcast specifically for girls. Instead, we wanted to be at that junction between people of different genders having a conversation where everyone has something to contribute and something to learn.
